About

Short FamilyFor those who may not know me, let me properly introduce myself.  I’m thirty one years old, have a beautiful wife who makes me look good, a wonderful son – Carter Daniel – born February 2, 2010, and a “daddy’s girl” – Avalynn Mariah – born May 26, 2011.  Life couldn’t be better!

We spent the past three and a half years in youth ministry in my home church, The Lighthouse Church in Tulsa, OK – Pastor Gary L. Howard.

In response to the call of God, my family moved to Manila Philippines January 9th, 2013 as missionaries.  We feel honored to work in this country and are excited about the revival God is giving us.

Overall, I love God and love people – the first helps with the latter.

  1. I recently purchased your cd. What a blessing it has been to me. The words, the music, and most of all the Spirit of God I feel listening to it. May God bless you and your family and continue to work for the Almighty God!

  2. So…we’re having our weeknight service at Truth Tabernacle of Fontana CA and Pastor tells me that we have a missionary coming and to be ready to run his slide show presentation (since I was scheduled to run the sound and the overhead projectors that night). The preacher gets to the pulpit and begins preaching. Even though he’s very young he’s a very good preacher! Very anointed and on fire! So while he’s preaching I’m thinking “he doesn’t look like a relative but he has the same last name as my mother.” After service I walk up to greet him and I ask him if he ever knew a “Lucille Short”. He looks at me strange and says “Yes, that was my Grandma.” I laugh and say “Well, that means you are my cousin!” And that’s how two cousins met each other for the first time! Congratulations Bro Short! Keep doing the work of The Lord! God Bless you and your family! Troy D. Gooch

  4. Hi James,

I stumbled across your webpage when I was searching for blogs by Dr. James Dobson. I am Filipino and have been in the US since 1986. I work in Christian Ministry in Colorado Springs and reside there as well together with my Filipina wife and 6 year old son and 4 year old daughter.

My wife and I are being called to move back to Zamboanga Philippines in early 2015 to be in ministry as well. Even though we are Filipinos, my wife and I have adopted the US (particularly Colorado) as our home and this planned move is exciting and scary.

I commend you on your obedience and know that you’ve encouraged us in this next move our Lord has in store for us. I hope and pray that you and yours continue to be blessed and guided by the Holy Spirit in your endeavors to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ.

    In His Draft,
    Joe Silverio
