Archives For Religious

Due to some complications in acquiring a permanent Visa we had to leave the Philippines before our one year anniversary was up. Pastor Howard felt it was a good time to visit family and friends as well as some of the churches in the States. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and feel blessed to be able to have made this much-needed trip. God is good!

Toward the end of the trip, however, all of us were missing “home.” The kids were asking about their toys and Sis. Short just couldn’t wait to return to the heat and humidity. Kidding, of course! This Colorado girl couldn’t get enough of the cold and enjoyed what little snow we could find. At any rate, living out of suitcases from place to place has a way of making you “homesick” when nothing else will!

God Will Make A Way

July 12, 2013

Have you ever been in a trial that just seemed to overwhelm you? Sometimes life can be rather suffocating as we are buried beneath the rubble of a messed up situation. Yet, if you are one of His, there is the promise that He will never leave or forsake you. Furthermore, “we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” (Romans 8:28)

So, enjoy the words to this song I’m working on. Someday soon, I’ll record it and post it as well.

The church that does not evangelize will fossilize..

Author Unknown

Everyday I am reminded that I’m a foreigner here in the Philippines. My pale completion and blue eyes must give it away when contrasted with dark skin, black hair and brown eyes. Without fail, people want to know where I’m from and how long I’m staying. They are surprised when I tell them God called my family to work here and we are staying until God calls us “home”.

Nora Pacho receiving the Holy Ghost!

Nora was first contacted by Pastor Bunog (pictured right) and Trenton Bundy of Tulsa Oklahoma, during the first part of April. A group of young people from our home church in Tulsa visited us for a week. You can click here to learn more about that trip. We teamed up with the Filipino youth from local churches and went house-to-house conducting on-the-spot Bible Studies.

Since that time, Nora, as well as many others, have been given regular Bible Studies. Last Sunday was Nora’s first time to visit the church and God graciously filled her with the Holy Ghost. We give God the glory for this and pray that many more will come to know our great savior and the life changing power of His Spirit..
